Adoption Education and Information

Gods Families provides a number of educational and information resources and referrals for its families to better know adoption and what you will need to know throughout this process, including providing all of our placement families with our

  • Adoption Guidebook (for initial information about enrolling in any of our programs)
  • Homestudy Kit (all necessary instructions and forms for obtaining documents for completing a homestudy with Gods Families)
  • Dossier Kit (all necessary instructions and forms for collecting documents for obtaining documents for your dossier and the foreign government)
  • In-Country Survival and Travel Guide (a guide designed to prepare you for your trip and stay in country)
  • Welcome Home Kit (helpful information for the post-adoption period)

Gods Families will also refer you to e-based courses that can be done in the comfort of your home that help prospective parents prepare for the emotional adjustment and impact of bringing a child into their family, as well as referrals to other educational books and materials that can help prepare you for your future adoption.

Additional support services are also available upon request with referrals to marriage and family and child specialists to assist your family and your decision to adopt a child into your family.

It is critical for today's adoptive family to be well informed and exposed to international adoptive issues. The manual and other resource guides provide families with the information necessary for a successful adoption.
